Air Freight from Africa to Europe via UAE
- Confirmed onward routing to Europe before departure from Africa
- One coordinator for pickup, UAE transit and delivery in Europe
- Route options through DXB, DWC and AUH compared by time and total cost
- Scheduled, priority and charter capacity for standard and non-standard cargo
AC Global Services arranges air freight from Africa to Europe through Dubai and Abu Dhabi for commercial, time-sensitive and special cargo. We coordinate the flight from the African origin, the transfer at DXB, DWC or AUH, onward capacity to Europe and delivery from the selected European gateway.
Routing through the UAE can be considered when direct space is limited, the required European destination is not served from the origin or the cargo needs another carrier, a different aircraft configuration or additional handling between flights. Scheduled services, consolidation and charter capacity are compared according to the shipment profile and required arrival date.

Scheduled and Consolidated Air Freight
Scheduled air freight is suitable for commercial shipments that comply with airline weight, size and acceptance limits. The African departure and the onward service to Europe are checked before booking. We compare the arrival time in the UAE, the second airline’s cut-off, terminal compatibility and confirmed space for the next flight. The two sectors may use the same carrier or different airlines. Consolidation can be considered for compatible shipments when the delivery schedule allows a planned connection in the UAE.

Time-Critical Air Freight
Time-critical air freight can be arranged for production parts, medical supplies, repair equipment, aircraft components and other cargo linked to a fixed deadline. The earliest departure from Africa is not always the fastest complete option. Route selection is based on the expected European arrival, including the time required for the transfer in the UAE. When schedules allow, an alternative onward flight can be checked before departure in case the first sector is delayed.

Cargo Charter Services
A cargo charter may be used for urgent shipments, heavy consignments or pieces that cannot be accepted on scheduled services. The charter can cover the complete Africa–Europe route or only one sector. For example, cargo may arrive in the UAE on a scheduled flight and continue to Europe on a dedicated aircraft. Using charter capacity only where it is required can be more economical than booking a dedicated aircraft for the complete journey.
Cargo Types We Transport
Fruit, vegetables, flowers, seafood and other perishable cargo are planned around cargo readiness, storage conditions and the maximum acceptable transfer time.
Medicines, laboratory products, diagnostic equipment and medical devices may require defined temperature conditions, data loggers and documented handovers.
Garments, fabrics, footwear, leather products and accessories can move for wholesale distribution, stock replenishment and seasonal sales.
Pumps, tools, electrical units, replacement assemblies and production components can be transported for installation, maintenance and project operations.
Spare parts, technical assemblies, prototypes and repair units may require priority booking when downtime depends on the arrival date.
Regulated cargo, including batteries and chemicals, is reviewed separately. Classification, packaging and acceptance must be confirmed for every carrier involved.
Departure, Transit and Destination Airports
The route is built around a workable connection in the UAE. We compare access to the departure point, flight schedules, transfer time, onward capacity and delivery from the selected European gateway.
African departure airports
- Nairobi — NBO
- Addis Ababa — ADD
- Dar es Salaam — DAR
- Johannesburg — JNB
- Cape Town — CPT
- Lagos — LOS
- Accra — ACC
- Cairo — CAI
Shipments from other African cities can be transported by road or feeder service to the selected departure point.
UAE transit airports
- Dubai — DXB
- Dubai World Central — DWC
- Abu Dhabi — AUH
The transit point is selected according to the carrier combination, connection time, terminal compatibility, cargo dimensions and handling requirements.
European destination airports
- Amsterdam — AMS
- Frankfurt — FRA
- Liège — LGG
- Brussels — BRU
- Paris — CDG
- Milan — MXP
The European destination is selected according to the cargo type, import arrangements and the cost and timing of delivery to the consignee. A more distant gateway may still offer a shorter total transit time or a lower overall cost.
Transit Times via the UAE
Transit time is calculated from cargo acceptance at the African departure point to availability at the European terminal.
| Origin | UAE transit | European destination | Typical planning range, days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nairobi — NBO | Dubai — DXB | Amsterdam — AMS | 3–5 |
| Addis Ababa — ADD | Abu Dhabi — AUH | Frankfurt — FRA | 3–5 |
| Dar es Salaam — DAR | Dubai World Central — DWC | Liège — LGG | 4–6 |
| Johannesburg — JNB | Dubai World Central — DWC | Paris — CDG | 3–5 |
| Accra — ACC | Dubai — DXB | Brussels — BRU | 4–6 |
- The connection must allow enough time for unloading, document checks, terminal transfer, possible ULD rebuilding and acceptance before the second flight cut-off.
- Pickup, export procedures, import clearance and delivery to the consignee are calculated separately. The schedule is confirmed after checking capacity for the specific shipment.
Cargo Transit and Handling in the UAE
The transfer in the UAE is coordinated before the shipment leaves Africa. The inbound flight, onward booking, cargo documents and handling requirements are checked as part of one route plan.
Cargo may remain under customs control between flights, move to another airline or require storage and re-palletising before onward departure. Temperature-controlled handling can be arranged when required.
A connection within the same location usually involves fewer operations. Routing between DXB and DWC requires additional handling, transport under customs control and a longer transfer time. If the first flight is delayed, the onward booking is reviewed and the cargo is placed in suitable storage until the next confirmed departure.
Africa–Europe Air Freight Rates
The quotation consists of the origin charges, two flight sectors, UAE transit operations and destination services.
| Cost component | Included operations |
|---|---|
| Origin in Africa | Pickup, export handling, screening and terminal acceptance |
| Africa–UAE flight | First air freight sector |
| UAE transit | Unloading, storage, document checks and airline transfer |
| Additional handling | ULD rebuild, re-palletising or DXB–DWC transfer |
| UAE–Europe flight | Second air freight sector |
| European destination | Terminal handling and document release |
| Final delivery | Transport to the consignee |
- The total cost depends on chargeable weight, dimensions, cargo category, capacity on both flights, transfer complexity, European destination and delivery distance.
- A lower rate on the first sector does not always mean a lower total price. Additional storage, a complicated transfer or limited onward capacity may increase the final amount.
Door-to-Door Delivery
Cargo can be collected from a farm, factory, warehouse, mine, medical facility or consolidation point and transported to the selected departure location.
Origin services may include pickup scheduling, vehicle selection, packaging checks, palletising, document collection and delivery before the airline cut-off.
After arrival in Europe, the shipment can be delivered to a factory, cold store, wholesale market, distribution centre, bonded warehouse or project site.
The consignee may use its own customs broker. Transport documents and arrival details can be sent to the appointed representative before the cargo reaches Europe.
Export, Transit and EU Import Documents
Standard commercial shipments commonly require:
Additional documents may be needed for agricultural products, seafood, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, batteries, chemicals, live animals and dual-use equipment.
Cargo descriptions, package counts, weights and handling instructions must remain consistent across the origin documents, UAE transit records and European import paperwork.
The document package should be checked before booking because information accepted for export may still be insufficient for airline transfer or import processing in Europe.
How the Route Works

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Cargo may arrive at a suitable gateway in another European country when the import arrangement and onward delivery make this option more practical. The complete route to the consignee is assessed before booking.
The shipment can remain in transit under customs control without entering the UAE market. The required procedure depends on the airports, airlines and transfer arrangement.
A through Air Waybill may be available when the carriers have a suitable interline arrangement. Other routes may require separate documents for the two flight sectors.
Yes, when the packaging, pallet dimensions and securing method meet the requirements of both carriers and aircraft. Re-palletising or ULD rebuilding may be required if the onward aircraft has different loading limits.
Insurance can be arranged for the agreed route, including the two air sectors, handling in the UAE and final delivery in Europe. The insured value and coverage conditions must be confirmed before departure.
An alternative destination may be considered if the planned onward flight is cancelled or space becomes unavailable. The change depends on carrier acceptance, documents, import arrangements and delivery options from the new gateway.
